Adams and Mt. St. Helens. Motor coach to Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic
Monument where you may look right into the volcanic crater from the nearby
observatory and interpretive center.

- Port call at Astoria for a motor coach tour to Coxcomb Hill and Astoria Column. Visit Lewis & Clark's Fort Clatsop where the Corps of Discovery spent the winter of 1805/06. Visit the Columbia River Maritime Museum and have time on your own to explore historic Astoria.

River Gorge - Early morning cruising brings you to the heart of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. You'll transit Bonneville Lock and Dam and port call at Stevenson, Washington. Visit the Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center, Multnomah Falls and Bonneville Dam. Return to the ship for afternoon cruising on the Columbia River.

- After breakfast, bow land at historic Umatilla Landing to visit the Fort Walla Walla Museum, the Whitman Mission and one of Walla Walla's 35 wineries. After lunch at the historic Marcus Whitman Hotel, reboard the Empress near the confluence of the Columbia and Snake rivers. Evening cruising on the Snake River.

Clarkston/Lewiston
- Take a safe yet thrilling whitewater jet boat ride deep into Hells Canyon. Have your camera ready to capture the wildlife and ancient native petroglyphs along the river's edge. Return to the Empress for afternoon cruising on the Snake River. A Nez Perce native will join you onboard to share the history and culture of his people.

River Cruising - Spend a leisurely day passing through Wallula Gap and transiting four locks along the Columbia River. Enjoy shipboard activities including a presentation by the ship's historian. Tonight, say goodbye to crew and friends at the Captain's Gala Farewell Dinner.
